Job Description: Licensed Massage Therapist — Sports & Recovery Studio (1099 / Independent Contractor)
Compensation: Commission-based (1099), 55–60% per service + 100% of tips · veteran sessions funded via VA CCN · no studio fee, no overhead · flexible part-time or full-time
About Capital Wellness & Recovery
CWR is a premium athletic-recovery studio in Hyattsville offering cold plunge, infrared sauna, compression therapy, and licensed bodywork. We help athletes and active adults recover, perform, and feel their best — and we’re building a team of skilled therapists to grow with us.
What you’ll do
- Provide professional therapeutic, sports, and recovery-focused massage (30 / 60 / 90-minute sessions)
- Deliver an exceptional, client-first experience in a clean, spa-grade environment
- Keep accurate treatment notes and communicate client needs and contraindications
- Optionally serve veteran clients referred through the VA Community Care Network
- Maintain a sanitary, treatment-ready space

What we’re looking for
- Active Maryland massage therapy license, or eligibility to obtain MD licensure by endorsement (required to practice in Maryland)
- Professional liability insurance, or willingness to obtain it
- Strong hands-on skills; interest in athletic recovery a plus
- Reliable, self-motivated, and client-first — new graduates welcome
