Role Description:
This is a part-time, on-site contract role for a Licensed Massage Therapist working collaboratively alongside a Licensed Acupuncturist and senior Licensed Massage Therapist. The therapist will provide therapeutic massage and bodywork services customized to client needs, maintain high standards of professionalism and hygiene, and contribute to calm, welcoming clinical environment.
Compensation & Professional Support:
- Commission-based compensation: 45/55 split
- Rate adjustable based on experience, specialization, and advanced training
- Continuing Education (CEU) assistance available
- CPR/AED certification assistance available
- Access to collaborative care and mentorship with senior clinicians
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional therapeutic massage and bodywork services tailored to individual client goals
- Conduct thorough client consultations, including health history review and treatment planning
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment
- Collaborate respectfully with licensed acupuncture and massage professionals
- Uphold ethical standards, professional boundaries, and scope of practice
- Maintain punctuality, reliability, and consistent availability per agreed schedule
Required Qualifications:
- Current and active Virginia Massage Therapy License (required prior to interview)
- Professional liability insurance (required prior to interview)
- Ability to work independently and professionally without micromanagement
- Proficiency in therapeutic massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Clinical/Orthopedic)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable transportation
- Commitment to a minimum 3-year contract term
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in holistic or integrative care settings
- Familiarity with Eastern medicine principles as they relate to bodywork
- Strong client retention and rebooking history
