Job Description: Medical Massage Therapist
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dependable Medical Massage Therapist to join
our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience and a passion for helping
clients reduce pain, improve mobility, and support their overall wellness.
Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Massage Execution: Performs therapeutic massages to patients.
- Clinical Evaluation & Treatment Planning: Selects evaluation and treatment methods appropriate for the diagnosis, age group, and patients’ physical or emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans.
- Team Collaboration & Communication: Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members. Open to operational feedback and receptive to workplace changes.
- Documentation & Compliance: Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written daily clinical notes.
- Environmental Maintenance: Ensures a clean, sanitary, and orderly work area at all times. Cleans mats, tables, and equipment per facility standards prior to performing client massages.
- Patient Care & Logistics: Greets and escorts patients to their proper treatment areas in a timely and professional manner.
- Operational Flexibility: May perform additional duties as assigned by clinical leadership.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) active in the state of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required upon start).
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of specialized massage treatment techniques, including:
> Soft and deep tissue massage
> Effleurage and petrissage
> Myofascial release
> Trigger point release techniques
- Must have liability insurance
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and client-focused skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wellness team environment.
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Contractor)
Schedule: Monday – Saturday (Flexible hours)
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
