: Yao Shan Center for Chinese Medicine is a well-established and thriving acupuncture and Chinese herbal pharmacy. We are seeking an organized individual to facilitate the practical aspects of our patients’ experience. 

This position is a lively combination of administrative and interactive tasks.  As administrative staff you set the tone for the patients’ healing experience through scheduling, email and phone communications and front desk interactions. There is an application of awareness to the clinic’s maintenance in room management and inventory.  The position supports the practitioner with notetaking, diagnostic photos, and recordation of acupuncture point and herbal formulas.  The position supports patients through adjunctive Chinese medical therapies as directed by the practitioner.

Primary Responsibilities: 

·       Assist acupuncturist with patient notes, diagnostic photos, acupuncture point recordation.

• Provide support in patient interaction and communications. 
• Schedule appointments, track payments and support patient records with EMR software
• Management of clinic emails and phone messages 
• Prepare treatment rooms and stock clinic and pharmacy supplies. 
• Coordinate Chinese herb dispensary orders, and their shipping and pick-ups. 
• Collaborate with practitioners and support staff to ensure the clinic operates smoothly. 

Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in healthcare office, massage or other healing arts is preferred but not mandatory. 
• Interest in holistic perspective and a mature professional demeanor. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What You Can Expect:

Our new massage therapy services will allow 15 minutes of time between clients, provide all linens, oils, creams, and other supplies necessary for massage, and offer our therapists the freedom to practice their modalities in consultation with each client and their needs. Training/Experience 

• High School Diploma or GED. Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferred.  
• Valid state license to practice massage therapy.

At Massosport DC, shifts are traditionally 6 hours long, with a maximum of five clients within those hours. Between each appointment is a minimum 15 minute break for you to use the bathroom, have a quick snack, sanitize your room, and change over the sheet sets.

Responsibilities:

• ●Evaluate clients
• ●Create and implement individual comprehensive recovery and maintenance strategies for clients
• ●Utilize knowledge of and experience in sports therapy and other related areas to help rehabilitate and maintain clients’ bodies
• ●Explain your techniques and process with clients during the session and recommend follow up steps either in the form of additional sessions or at home techniques or both
• ●Thoroughly clean and sanitize your assigned room between clients
• ●Read through client intake forms and messages prior to their arrival and implement information gathered here to tailor the body work to each individual client and their needs
• ●Record SOAP notes for each and every client appointment
• ●Show up to shifts on time, 20 minutes before each appointment
• ●Be a team player, but also focused on improving your skills and moving yourself forward

Qualifications:

• ●An active massage therapy license in good standing in DC
